The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to the end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place however, when this isn't possible, you can take it off to measure. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon could be susceptible to attacks like lock snapping, so it is important to make sure it's not too long.
The majority of modern cylinders have been designed with bump and anti-drill features that are built into their design. They are designed to decrease the chances of an attack by forcing the cylinder to rotate in a different direction. This helps prevent attacks and keep your doors safe.
Some cylinders are designed to withstand snapping. This is a more frequent kind of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is attacked with a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to be opened. Spring Cassette
This spring cassette is found inside the base plate of your door handle. It offers a spring-loaded solution to bring your multipoint lock handles to their resting position after usage. These handles used to have no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. These spring cassettes are specially designed for use with multipoint locks sprung, they will not fit non-sprung multipoint handles.
